Run Technique

These sessions can be done at a Running Track or Sports Hall / Studio . We use Kingsmeadow Track in Kingston  and Carshalton Sports College sports hall.

The session’s are based around learning sets of drills from Pose Method of running by Dr. Romanov, Steve worked alongside Dr. Romanov from 2000 – 2003 delivering workshops to British Triathlon & UK Athletics .

The Science .The keys to a good running style are Posture, Cadence  and Foot strike. Stride length is a function of speed of turnover so cadence is more important than stride length . Poor posture will lead to poor foot strike and more chance of injury.

Summary – Running with a fast smooth cadence landing under your (GCM) bodyweight will lead to faster & injury free running.

I’m a keen runner and have run many half marathons and marathons. Core Active were referred to me by a friend as I was struggling to come back to fitness following an injury. I attended a run technique workshop and we worked on areas such as core strength, flexibility and of course run technique. Well 2 years on and I haven’t had an injury since. I now train with Steve twice a week as I find the sessions are so beneficial to me, my core is so much stronger then what it once was and my running times have dramatically improved. ” Graham

Workshops are bespoke to and can be delivered to individuals , groups, clubs, teams, with a One day workshop -Weekend clinics – 1 hour group session for 4-6 weeks Prices available on request .
